A prototype is in the works that could change car commercials on your television to “buy now from your tri-state pot dealer.”
The CBC delivers an introduction to an advanced form of auto-making, crafted with the help of controlled substances. A group of Alberta-based companies are putting their heads together to design the Kestrel, an electric car with a body constructed out of hemp mats. (See a special on the history of the electric car)
The car is expected to hold up to three people, with a top speed of 90 kilometers (55.9 miles) per hour. Unfortunately for American competitors, importing processed hemp is a crime in the United States, leaving Canadians ahead of the curve on this cannabis-powered endeavor.
